​Launches successor of its most-popular A-series phones, Galaxy A52 and Galaxy A72

Samsung launched two A-series smartphones this week, Galaxy A52 and Galaxy A72. Galaxy A52 succeeds Galaxy A51, the highest-selling Android smartphone of the year 2020. Both the new phones come in two variants baked on RAM and storage capacity. The Galaxy A52 is priced at Rs 26,499 (6GB RAM/128GB storage) and Rs 27,999 (8GB RAM/128GB). While Galaxy A72 at Rs 34,999 for 8GB RAM and 128GB variant and Rs 37,999 for 8GB RAM and 256GB storage model. Click to read the story

​Redmi enters SmartTV segment

Redmi expanded its product portfolio in India with the launch of the Redmi Smart TV X Series. The new series offers smart TVs in three sizes -- 50-inch, 55-inch and 65-inch with 4K panel and DTS Virtual:X sound technology. Redmi Smart TV X50 series is priced at Rs 32,999 onwards. ​TCS to give second salary hike in 6 months

Indian IT giant Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) will hand out across-the-board salary hikes for 2021-22, becoming the first IT services company to do so for the upcoming fiscal. The salary increments will benefit nearly 4.7 lakh employees. The average increment band for offshore employees is expected to be 6-7 per cent as per norms, sources privy to the development said. Sennheiser launches IE 300 in-ear headphones launch

Sennheiser launched its latest pair of in-ear headphones in India -- IE300. Priced at Rs 29,990, the in-ear headphones come with adjustable flexible ear hooks, as well as silicone and memory foam ear adaptors. The headphones are claimed to be powered by “refined version” of Sennheiser’s 7mm Extra Wide Band (XWB) transducer. ​Google’s ‘TikTok for work’, Threadit, is here

Tech giant Google announced a new short video service called Threadit -- a standalone website and Chrome extension. This service has been developed by Google's in-house incubator, Area 120. Through this service, users will be able to record clips or their screen to share with colleagues. Users can record multiple short clips, which will then be stitched together into one cohesive video message. ​Samsung not killing Galaxy Note series, but it is not coming in 2021

Samsung has confirmed that it will not be launching Galaxy Note series smartphones this year. During its 52nd annual shareholder’s meeting, DJ Koh, co-CEO of Samsung’s IT and Mobile Communications division confirmed that this year it will be difficult for the company to release the new Galaxy Note 21 series. ​China’s military bans Tesla cars

Chinese military has banned Tesla cars from entering its housing complexes, citing security concerns over the cameras installed on the vehicles. The order issued by the military advises Tesla owners to park their cars outside military property, they said, declining to be named due to the sensitivity of the issue. Tesla cars, which are popular in China and made at a factory in Shanghai, have several small external cameras to assist with parking and self-driving.
