Patna, Mar 20 (UNI) Amid rising graph of coronavirus infection, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today directed the concerned authorities to keep a strict vigil on the travel history of those coming to Bihar from other states on the occasion of Holi festival.
After reviewing the situation in a high-level meeting Mr Kumar said here today that coronavirus infection was increasing in some of the states and asked to keep a special eye on those coming to Bihar either by train, bus or flight from various parts of the country. He asked to ensure that tests at railway stations, Bus stands and airports.
Reiterating his commitment to increase the limit of the test he asked the concerned authority to conduct 70% of the medical examination through RTPCR and its report should be provided within 24 hours. He also asked to limit the number of people attending any function and strictly follow the guidelines.
Directing to increase the pace of vaccination against the coronavirus infection Mr Kumar asked to cover the frontline workers including health workers, police personnel and others. He also expressed to give priority to the pensioners in vaccination.
Expressing satisfaction over the scenario of coronavirus in Bihar Mr Kumar said that there is no need to be panic in the state and maintained that the schools would to function and the teaching would also continue.
He appealed to the people to follow the guidelines of the coronavirus infection and use a mask and maintain social distance.
In the review meeting, the principal health secretary Amrit Pratyay said that 2 crore 30 lakh 58 thousand 747 tests have been conducted till March 19 this year.
He said that 1 lakh 80 thousand 570 tests were being conducted on every 10 lakh population in the state where 263355 positive cased have been detected with 463 active cases. He said that the recovery rate in Bihar is 99.2 4% whereas at the national level it is 96.26 %
Mr Pratyay said the monitoring cell was active at the district level and direction has been issued for 100% tests in micro containment zones.
The principal secretary said that those coming from outside were being sensitized in panchayats.
