Indian Style wrestling Assn gets recognition as National Sports Federation

Jammu, Mar 20 (UNI) The Indian Style Wrestling Association have been recognized as National Sports Federation in a meeting held at the national capital.
A handout issued here by the Indian Style Wrestling Association of India said that the Ministry of Sports has granted recognition to the body as a National Sports Federation under which they will be eligible to enjoy benefits like other National Federations such as rail concessions, recruitment against sports quota to wrestlers of Indian style and also participations of International and leading wrestlers in championships.
The Association members in the meeting committed to meet norms and expectations of the Ministry of Sports by expanding over activates and giving an added performance for which all the states associations and units of ISWAI will have to work hard and follow the guidelines of ISWAI which will be issued from time to time and also for international participation of wrestlers they have been given affiliation by “World Federation of Indian Style Wrestling”.
“We are thankful to the Ministry of Sports for approving the Recognition of Traditional Indian Style Wrestling to ISWAI and putting on our shoulders responsibilities to develop and promote the traditional Sport,” they added.
