Montrezl Harrell was 2 for 5 entering the 4th Q.

He’s now 9 for 12 (21 points, 10 boards) after a dunk at the 2:03 mark caused ATL’s time out.

It’s still a 9-point deficit with 3:21 to play after the teams exchanged 3’s.

Montrezl Harrell is 4 for 4 to start the 4th Q for the Lakers, but they haven’t been able to get stops on the other end, with ATL hitting 4 straight shots including their 10th and 11th 3’s to open an 87-73 lead, their biggest of the evening, with 8:21 to play.

LAL were outscored 22-12 in that 3rd Q, as they struggled on offense in the absence of LeBron (ankle injury).

The Lakers did pick things up once the bench got in, and Harrell’s bucket got them to within 7 to start the 4th Q.

With nothing going offensively sans LeBron, Vogel put Harrell and THT in at the 6:40 mark, LAL still yet to score this period. ATL leads by 11 (12-0 run).

Screen/roll action with those two could be a staple, though Harrell wasn’t able to get any rolling action in the first half.

Lakers haven’t scored with this non-LeBron starting lineup in the first 3 minutes of the 3rd Q.

James creates so much of what that group gets especially without AD; tough adjustment for the Lakers coming out of halftime. ATL’s 7-0 run has them up 59-53.

Lakers vs Hawks 2nd Quarter

LAL head into halftime with a 53-52 edge. The headline of the day is LeBron’s ankle injury, which will keep him out for the game. He left with LAL down 34-30 early in the 2nd Q, but they were able to rally to a 1-point halftime lead.

No word on LeBron yet. The last time LAL played without both LeBron and AD was the last game before the break, a narrow 123-120 loss at SAC. That was the only game this season LeBron has missed.

LAL hold a 43-40 lead after a pair of FT’s from Schroder. Lakers are 6 for 10 in the 2nd Q with 3 3’s after shooting just 38% in the 1st Q.

Trae Young has attempted only 2 shots thus far, both pullup 3’s in transition, and missed both. He has 5 assists to lead ATL.

Lakers vs Hawks 1st Quarter

LAL are cold in their first and only day game of the season, hitting only 5 of 15 FG’s thus far, including 0 for 4 from 3.

The Hawks, meanwhile, are 8 of 17, and 3 of 7 from 3, enough for a 23-15 lead at the 3:08 mark.

Clint Capela picked up his 2nd PF going over the back of Damian Jones looking for an offensive rebound at the 9-minute mark, bringing backup big Nathan Knight in for ATL. Knight committed his first foul moments later on a LeBron drive.
