NEW DELHI: Delhi chief minister and Aam Aadmi Party national convenor Arvind Kejriwal will address a ‘Kisan Mahapanchayat’ against the three farm laws at Moga in Punjab on Sunday and throw his weight behind the farmers protesting against the farm laws for months.
AAP in a statement said Kejriwal and the party have stood with the farmers who have been fighting for their rights against the three black farm laws at Delhi's borders. “AAP has ensured facilities like drinking water, toilets and WiFi in view of the daily needs of the farmers,” AAP stated, blaming Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh and Badals of SAD for helping in “bringing the three black agricultural laws.”
A sustained agitation against the farm laws is going on across the country against the laws. Farmers have been sitting at Tikri, Singhu and Ghazipur borders of Delhi for several months fighting for their rights. The farmers spent several nights in the bitter cold of Delhi, and hundreds of innocent farmers have even sacrificed their lives.
"The Centre brought the three anti-farmer laws in Parliament without consulting the farmers and passed them in an unconstitutional manner. The Centre has tortured the farmers and has wanted to send them to jail. AAP has been continuously fighting for the rights of the farmers, from Parliament to the streets. Every single party worker has been engaged in the service of the farmers sitting at the border since their peaceful movement began,” AAP said in a statement.
Kejriwal is scheduled to address the Kisan Mahapanchayat on 4 April at Huda Maidan in Jind, Haryana. Earlier, he had addressed a mahapanchayat in Meerut district in Uttar Pradesh.
