The Intern starring Deepika Padukone is back on track; Amitabh Bachchan to replace Rishi Kapoor in the film

Amitabh Bachchan to step in for Rishi Kapoor’s role in the remake of Hollywood movie ‘The Intern,’ which also stars Deepika Padukone.

In 2020, Arzure Entertainment and Warner Bros announced the remake of Hollywood film ‘The Intern.’

Deepika Padukone and late Rishi Kapoor would play the role of Anne Hathway and Robert di Nero.

However, after the demise of Rishi Kapoor the project came to a halt. After a long halt, a source revealed that Amitabh Bachchan is mostly likely to replace Rishi Kapoor in the film.

Commenting on the production of the film, a source revealed, “The Hindi remake of The Intern hit a massive roadblock with demise of Rishi Kapoor. This suddenly meant that the venture was missing a crucial member of the cast, and the makers had to re-analyse the casting. Though it has taken a while, the makers of The Intern remake have now locked Amitabh Bachchan for the project and are looking to resume the shoot soon.”

On asked for more details, the source adds, “Amitabh Bachchan has been cast to reprise the role that would have been played by Rishi Kapoor. Though it is unclear when the film will finally commence shooting, talks are on with the cast members to finalise dates.”
