Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh government has announced that a one-day lockdown or ‘janta curfew’ will be imposed on Sunday, March 21 in Indore, Bhopal and Jabalpur. The fresh restrictions come amid rising COVID-19 cases in the three cities.
All schools and colleges in Indore, Bhopal and Jabalpur will remain closed till March 31.
The decision was taken at a review meeting chaired by Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Friday.
Madhya Pradesh on Friday reported 1,140 COVID-19 cases, taking its tally to 2,73,097, while seven deaths increased the toll to 3,901.
556 people were discharged from hospitals in the last 24 hours, taking the count of recoveries in Madhya Pradesh to 2,62,587.
