Woman ‘issues threats’ to official at vax centre

Ghaziabad: A pharmacist at the District Combined Hospital has been accused of trying to pressure the in-charge of a vaccination centre into giving the Covid shot to an “ineligible” person on Tuesday.
Officials said the woman also threatened the in-charge of dire consequences if the jab is not administered. Meanwhile, the chief medical officer has asked the hospital management to initiate action against the pharmacist and submit a report.
On Tuesday, the pharmacist brought a 55-year-old employee to the centre and insisted that a shot be given to him. As he did not have any comorbid conditions, the in-charge said the person could not be vaccinated. The pharmacist started creating a ruckus at the centre.
The in-charge lodged a complaint with CMO Dr NK Gupta against the woman, who in turn approached the chief medical superintendent Dr Sanjay Teotia.
Dr Teotia told TOI that an inquiry has been initiated and any disciplinary action will be taken after that.
