Accton to produce 400G switches in 1H21

Network communication device maker Accton Technology will begin production of 400G switches later in the first half of 2021, according to company CEO Edgar Masri.

Accton has begun production of cell site router uses in 5G base stations and stepped into the development of new technologies including AI, edge computing, co-structure packaging of optical devices, Masri said.

To cope with the impact of US-China trade disputes, Accton is seeking locations in Asian countries other than China and Taiwan for setting up factories on its own or a joint venture basis, Masri noted.

Accton posted consolidated revenues of NT$54.463 billion (US$1.91 billion), gross margin of 21.21%, operating profit of NT$6.403 billion, net profit of NT$5.048 billion, net EPS of NT$9.07 for 2020, and has decided to distribute a cash dividend per share of NT$6.50 for the year.

Accton has reported consolidated revenues of NT$3.632 billion for February 2021, decreasing 16.98% on month but increasing 6.9% on year, and those of NT$8.008 billion for January-February, growing 13.22% on year.
