YAMUNANAGAR: Yamunanagar Police of Hayarna has registered a case of cheating and criminal conspiracy against unknown persons after Rs 12 lakh was withdrawn from the savings bank account of a retired government school teacher.
On the complaint of Usha Rani of Saraswati Colony, Jagadhri, a case has been registered under sections 406 (criminal breach of trust), 420 (cheating) and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Radaur police station on March 17.
In her police complaint, Usha stated to the police, “I have a savings account in a branch of a private bank in Radaur town. On July 2, 2020, an amount of Rs 12,41,921 was deposited in my bank account."
She added, "I was shocked when I went to the branch to withdraw some money on December 21, 2020. I found that Rs 12,41,921 was withdrawn illegally in installments between September 23, 2020 to November 5, 2020."
