Kamal party's candidate tests covid positive, starts campaign online

Chennai, Mar 19 (UNI) A candidate of the actor-politician

Kamal Haasan's Makkal Needhi Maim (MNM) contesting

the April six Tamil Nadu Assembly elections has tested

positive for COVID and has started his campaign online

and on social media platforms from today.

In a tweet, medico-turned-bureaucrat-turned-politician

Dr Santhosh Babu, who is contesting from the Velacherry

Assembly constituency in the city, confirmed that he had

tested positive for COVID-19.

He got admitted himself into a hospital.

In the tweet last night, he said 'I wish to inform my

Velachery voters that I contracted COVID. How unlucky

I am! I really want to meet with all of you and seek your

blessings and votes."

'We will be going on a hyper digital campaign and my

teams will come and meet with you. Do vote for MNM

and me!', he said.

Dr Santosh Babu, who is also the Headquarters General

Secretary of MNM, said he has asked his family members

and those who had been campaigning with him to get

themselves tested.

Stating that he had already started his online campaign,

Dr Santosh babu said he interacted with residents from

the hospital through WhatsApp video calls.

“From today, I started going live on Twitter, Facebook,

Instagram and other social media forums,” he added.
