Patna, Mar 19 (UNI) Bihar Assembly Speaker Vijay Kumar Sinha today announced that a committee of the Lower House would probe into the excess payment realised by an agency for skill training programme under seven resolves schemes.
In reply to call the attention of Kumar Shailendra, Arun Shankar Prasad and others regarding financial irregularities and excess payment made to an agency of Maharashtra for imparting skilled training to the youth under-skilled youth program, the speaker, considering the demands of the members for the enquiry into it by a committee of the house, announced for the same during the pre-lunch sitting of the house.
While replying to the call attention, labour resources minister Jivesh Mishra admitted that an amount of Rs 24 lakh has been paid to the agency for developing a portal. He said that the portal was to be developed in 2017 but the agency developed it in 2020. The Minister said that the amount paid to the agency would be settled during final payment and lawful action would be initiated.
Through his supplementary Kumar Shailendra said that the agency was selected as a knowledge partner under the scheme and was supposed to develop the portal for placement. He said that in want of the portal the youth who were imparted skilled based training could not get employment. Asking the government to fix the responsibility upon the person concerned for it, he alleged that Rs 50 crore has been paid to the agency.
Mr Arun Shankar Prasad said that the agency was supposed to train 1 crore youth in 5 years. He said that the agency of Maharashtra selected under the scheme was already blacklisted in its own state.
He further said that the agency got payment by producing fake and fabricated documents.
The members demanded an enquiry into it by a committee of the house which the speaker accepted.
