Thread: Have you noticed an increase in censorship on the internet?

I have.

A certain website that could be described as a hub of porn if you will, removed videos that featured any amateur content.

Recently my cable provider added censorship. I was browsing through the channels and saw that a channel was blocked for adult content. I was confused. It was a normal movie channel.

My settings were now automatically set to block "adult content". When I changed the settings so it wasn't blocking adult content anymore, I saw that it blocked an R-rated movie appearing on a cable channel.

Ummmm.... the movie is already censored. They're going to censor the profanity, nudity, and violence in an R-rated movie on cable television.

What is this, censorship of censorship? I can't even see the censored movie without changing some settings?

I thought this was really stupid.

You serious? Internet censorship has been blatantly increasing big time since the 2010's started and it kicked into overdrive when Trump won in 2016. Right now the internet is notorious for censorship when it comes to a lot of big sites like Google, Facebook, Twitter, Wikipedia, ect.
