
Silsbee Elementary School Assistant Principal Robert Wilson is among six Texans appointed to the The Texas School Safety Center board, which advises and oversees safety protocols.
According to a release, the board reports to the Governor, the legislature, the State Board of Education and the Texas Education Agency regarding school safety and security for K-12 schools and colleges, and advises the center on its function, budget, and strategic planning initiatives.
Wilson received a bachelor’s degree in general studies from Lamar University, a master’s degree in educational leadership from Stephen F. Austin State University, and a Doctor of Education in educational leadership from Lamar University.
He was honorably discharged from the United States Army, according to a release from the governor.
The Texas School Safety Center (TxSSC) is an official university-level research center at Texas State University and is tasked in state law and the Governor’s Homeland Security Strategic Plan with key school safety initiatives and mandates.
The center provides training, technical assistance, research and guidance to K-12 schools and junior colleges throughout the state of Texas.
Other appointees include an Assistant Principal from Wylie, Texas, a District Court Judge from Borger and a member of the Dallas ISD board of trustees.
