Bengaluru: Hitesha Chandranee, the social media influencer who accused Zomato's delivery boy Kamaraj of punching has claimed that she is being harassed. She also denied reports saying that she left Bengaluru to avoid police investigation.

Taking to her Instagram account, she said that she said that she is getting threat calls and is being assaulted online on all platforms like WhatsApp, YouTube, and Instagram.

"Since the incident occurred, I have been harassed, abused and my life has been threatened. I have kept my silence as anything I say gets twisted. I do not have any PR agency to support or back me. I have had to take medical treatment for my nose which was fractured due to the incident. I have received many calls from various people using repulsive and threatening words against me. They have threatened my life and have been threatened to harm my family. I am being assaulted online in all platforms, be it email, WhatsApp, YouTube, Instagram in addition to regular calls and messages," she wrote on Instagram.

She added that attempts have been attempts made through social media to pressurize her to withdraw the complaint.

It may be recalled Hitesha had shared a video on Instagram, alleging that he was attacked by Zomato Delivery Boy for refusing to take the order back after a delay.

The Zomato delivery executive, however, shared a different version of the incident and denied the allegations saying that it was the woman who first verbally abused him, and then hit him with a slipper.

Recently, an FIR was lodged against Chandranee under sections 355 (assault), 504 (insult) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code.
