Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani digitally gifts different development works worth Rs 395 crore to Gandhinagar city

AHMEDABAD: Gujarat chief minister Vijay Rupani said his target is to make the state’s cities and towns rise above basic civic amenities like road, lights, water and gutter to build smart cities to compete with world class development.
In this context, he said that we are now marching towards 24x7 water, Metro rail, reuse of treated water, green clean transportation, equip with digital services for smart sustainable cities with planned development.
The CM digitally dedicated/laid foundation stone of different development works worth Rs 395-crore for the state capital at Gandhinagar municipal corporation.
He congratulated the municipal administration, office-bearers for these works in a short span of time.
The chief minister said that even amid the Corona pandemic time of last 15 months, the growth story of Gujarat had continued upward surge without halt. During this period following the mantra of ‘Jaya Manvi, Taya Suvidha’ Gujarat Government had undertaken developmental works worth of Rs 28,000-crore.
Now, we have setup the objectives to provide all modern amenities, including Metro Rail and Green – Clean Transport, in eight municipal corporations of the state, he said and added that to give boost to development in urban areas, a sum of Rs 14,000-Cr has been allocated to Urban Development Department in the current year’s budget.
The chief minister expressed confidence that in coming days the citizens of state capital Gandhinagar will welcome the politics of ‘Development’.
Gandhinagar’s Mayor Ritaben Patel, welcoming all, expressed happiness that the Bhoomipujan of development works worth of Rs 317 crore and developmental projects, worth of Rs 78 crore, dedicated to the people of Gandhinagar will enhance the public life amenities for the residents of the capital.
The Bhoomipujan of the developmental projects done by CMincluded ‘Solid Waste Collection’, ‘resurfacing of asphalt roads’, construction of CC roads, ‘Gantry’ at six entry-points of the state capital, two underpass, underground drainage and others.
Similarly, the developmental projects digitally dedicated to the people included Municipal Office, newly constructed Vehicle-Pool and construction of 50 meter high National Flag Pole at Ch-0 Circle, and others.
