After the prime minister named Uttar Pradesh in the same breath as Andhra Pradesh and Telangana as states that have been reporting high vaccine wastage, the state machinery has gone into a huddle, aiming to bring down the wastage to less than 5%, the state health minister Jai Pratap Singh said, even as he defended the state's wastage rate of 8.5%, saying an acceptable maximum wastage rate of 10% has been factored in.
