LUCKNOW: UP BJP chief Swatantra Dev Singh on Wednesday pitched for ward wise strategy to take on the opposition parties in the run up to panchayat elections.
Addressing party workers during his visit to Jaunpur, Singh said the ward incharge and ward convener need to devise campaigns as per requirements of wards. The party has decided to field its functionaries in zila panchayat elections. It has also decided to lend its support to selected candidates in the gram sabhas.
Singh said that the ward level functionaries need to hold dialogue with the people and tell them about achievements of the BJP government at the Centre and the state.
Thursday happens to be the last day of the week-long Gram Chaupal campaign which was aimed to expedite party’s outreach in the rural areas.
Singh will visit Ghazipur on Thursday. The UP BJP chief urged the party functionaries to tell people about anti-people policies of the Congress, SP and BSP.
He said that the state was witnessing all-round development under the present BJP dispensation. Singh also maintained that the issue of construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya be projected as an achievement of the BJP government.
