Six years after Anushka's Rudhrama Devi, Gunasekhar had the launch of his new film, Shaakuntalam earlier this week. So, samantha thought of it and agreed for a pay cut. Shaakuntalam - The love story is a subplot in Mahabharatam. The film is presented by dil Raju. Since it has a pan-India appeal, the movie will be released in multiple languages. Senior music director mani sharma is composing the music. The movie will release sometime the next year. This is the first film of samantha which went on floors after the pandemic. She shot for a couple of tamil films.
