Phase 3, Day 13: Vax turnout poor in private facilities

Gurgaon: Just two days after Gurgaon recorded the highest turnout of the third phase of the Covid-19 vaccination drive, the city on Wednesday say a dip in the number of people turning up for the jab. One of the reasons for the low turnout could be that no government sites were assigned for inoculations on the day.
On Wednesday — the 13th day of the phase — as many as 46 session sites were created in the district and 1,265 recipients were given the shots. As per official data, it was one of the slowest days in terms of Phase 3 vaccinations.
Between March 1 and March 16, as many as 37 government sites have carried out 30,420 vaccinations while 52 private hospitals have inoculated 40,809 recipients. Overall, the district has managed to vaccinate 71,229 people. A total of 953 people above the age of 60 years got vaccinated while 312 recipients between the ages 45 and 59 years who have comorbidities got their first shots on Wednesday.
A total of 302 healthcare workers and 48 frontline workers also got jabs.
