Hahaha it will be fun seeing the fanbois justify this now.

Imagine buying this with that much money instead of a near audiophile grade over ear headphones. Money can't buy what's between the ears.
That last line "Money can't buy what's between the ears" is absolutely true buddy.

I would like to elaborate it by quoting an example of a guy in our society, who purchased the Apple Mac Pro wheels for approx Rs. 62000/- & the same guy replaced the old tyres of his SUV with new ones for Rs. 32000/-

These are the kind of people who give bad names to people who genuinely appreciate apple products and use them. These people only want to do show off and usually will be seen with latest and greatest. Then there are like me who will try to extract last drop from my expensive apple product (my iphone 6s is 5+ years old currently).

I think better to reserve the price point discussion when it comes to Apple products.
I ridiculed Airpods when they came out and later airpods were the biggest revenue generators for Apple with huge sales.
Apple customers definitely have 60k lying around to throw for sure

I mean, there are cables available for same prices in the audio world, so I can't call out Apple on this. Audio world is notorious for high price items which are never VFM. So, to single out Apple on cashing in on that trend is ridiculous considering there are headphones available for 10 times what these cost.
Edit - Same is true for the watch industry as well.

I don't know why when it's comes to Apple people start calling them FANBOIS, I remember people buyimg car audio cables for 20/25k just the speaker cables.

If u can afford to buy it then why not.

While this is true, it is a niche market. AirPods are not targeted at those people and I doubt any of them will even consider an apple headphone. This is indeed ridiculous pricing even by apple standards. 35K~ would've been nice.

Let's just hope other brands like Sony don't jump on the bandwagon. This is what we should worry about :|

Exactly
I stopped buying audio gear at level of Triple Fi 10 iem.
Beyond those I didn't have proper ears or brains to discern the minute musicality that I was reading on head Fi discussion.
I just realised I am a normal consumer and best sound for me was Cowon S9 with X Bass on and a good IEM.

I STOPPED MYSELF AT THAT.
That was 10 years back now!!!

With all those colours, this is not just a headphone but a fashion accessory that people may want to flaunt.

Anyone remember those Beats headphone anymore?

You mean a cable worth 60K + a dedicated DAP + an external DAC for that DAP + amplifier for that DAC all rubber banded together to look like a big box isn't worth it? Come on you have horrible ears : (((

Seriously, there is a point from where it's all diminishing returns and there might not even a discernible difference in audio quality. I'm glad I don't visit that site or Headphone Zone Facebook group anymore. I got myself an Airpods pro last year and with Spotify equaliser it sounds really good to my ears. In layman's terms it's got good 'quality' bass and highs are great without any hint of sibilance and I've been really happy since. Extremely convenient and comfortable too and great for calls. I'd say it was a real steal in the US where it went for 12.5k on black friday.

Max would've been a good buy at 35k.
