Chandigarh, Mar 18 (UNI) Haryana Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kanwar Pal said work is being done to stop the flow of industrial waste water coming from the Bhiwadi industrial area, Rajasthan to the Dharuhera area of Haryana.
Replying to a question asked during the ongoing budget session of the Vidhan Sabha here on Thursday, the Minister said the government is regularly writing to the Rajasthan Government in this regard. This matter has also been taken up before the Rajasthan Government in joint meetings held between the governments of both the states.
He said this matter has also been placed before the National Green Tribunal (NGT). The NGT has directed the Rajasthan government to resolve the problem within three months.
Mr Kanwar Pal said the Rajasthan Chief Secretary has informed that Bhiwadi Municipality had decided to set up five STPs, out of which four plants have been set up. He has further informed that CETP is operational in Bhiwadi and the flow of treated water is being released near Khushkhera Industrial Area in Rajasthan.
The plan to upgrade CETP has also been received from Rajasthan. He hoped that this problem will be solved soon. The NGT has fixed the next hearing in this regard on May 2021.
