Hyderabad: Starting batsman Ramya hit a 159-ball 132 (16 × 4, 1 × 6) when Hyderabad defeated Jharkhand by 27 runs to record their third victory in Elite Group A at the National Women’s Cricket Championships in Surat on Thursday.
Thanks to Ramya’s century, Hyderabad posted 258/6 in 50 overs, and Jharkhand was limited to 231/7 in 50 overs in response. Hyderabad, who lost to Odisha, are on the points table with 12 points and will play the humble Tripura in the final league match on Saturday.
He chose to bat, and Hyderabad got off to a solid start when Ramya and Keerthi Reddy (50) put up 149 runs for the first wicket before being sacked later in the 36th over. Ramya had a great partnership again, this time with Mamtha Kanojia. The realized 63 runs around the third wicket before Ramya leaves. Kanojia hit a windy 41 off 29 balls to take Hyderabad to a challenging total.
In the pursuit of 259 for a win, Jharkhand also had a good start when Rashmi (35) and Indrani Roy (39) shared an opening time of 67 runs. Spinner Bhogi Shravani, who had another good outing, broke off the partnership by letting Rashmi catch and bowl. Although Jharkhand batsmen gave a good fight, the bowlers of Hyderabad laughed the last.
