Ind vs Eng 4th T20 – Suryakumar Yadav’s brilliant 57(30): Suryakumar Yadav finally got his chance to showcase his talent – and he grabbed it with both hands. The Mumbai Indians’ (MI) batsman, who was playing his second match but was batting for the country first time started his international runs tally with a six. With this, he became the first Indian to hit the first ball in a T20I for a six.
Not only this Surya was brilliant in his entire stay on the crease and ended up scoring 57 of just 30 balls studded with 6 fours and 3 sixes.
He had grabbed the opportunity in style. The 30-year-old star walked in to bat after the departure of his Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma. The pressure was on Suryakumar but he dispatched it with the ball which went flying over fine leg boundary. Archer bowled a short ball as Suryakumar quickly got under the ball to time it to perfection.
IND vs ENG – 1st ball in international cricket for a 6: The first batsman to do so was Pakistan pacer Sohail Tanvir against India in Johannesburg in 2007. South Africa’s Mangaliso Mosehle did the same against Sri Lanka at Centurion in 2017.
Yadav smashed a six off Jofra Archer on his first-ever ball in international cricket to announce his arrival in style. Kamran Akmal, Karim Sadiq, Dwayne Smith (twice), Martin Guptill, Colin Munro, Hazratullah Zazai and Rohit Sharma are the others batsmen to hit a six on the first ball of their innings in a T20I match.
Ind vs Eng 4th T20: England won toss, opted to filed
Earlier Eoin Morgan-led England won the toss and elected to field. England did not make any change in their lineup from the third T20I and they are playing with the winning combination from Tuesday’s game.
On the other hand, India made two changes to their lineup as the Virat Kohli-led side brought in Suryakumar Yadav in place of the injured Ishan Kishan and Rahul Chahar for Yuzvendra Chahal. Speaking at the toss, Morgan said: “We are gonna have a bowl again. The side that has chased has won. Looks a really good wicket, looks a lot harder. The challenge of setting a total depends on how you start.
Kohli persisted with KL Rahul but once again the India opener disappointed. Though unlike his previous 3 innings Rahul this time got into double figures but got out on 14 from 17 balls.
