Chand Nawab is back – and this time, he may have just hit the correct shot. The Pakistani journalist who had first gone viral in 2008, for his iconic “Karachi ke log, apno mein eid manane, ja rahe hai,” but fumbling and never finishing that line, while shooting on the steps of a railway station. Years later, he’s pulled off more stunts. Now, he’s back – to interviewing Pakistan’s President, Arif Alvi, while he was golfing. In a clip posted by Pakistani journalist Naila Inayat on Twitter, shows Chand Nawab walking upto the President while he is golfing on a Sunday to ask how the ‘desh’ (country) is doing. The President can be seen congratulating Nawab, for “Pakistan taraqi kar raha hai aur sab ka dil uss mein laga hua hai,” which roughly translates to ‘Pakistan is doing very well, and everyone’s heart is in making it better.’ The news channel also showed a small clip of the President ready-ing to take a shot.

While Nawab didn’t fumble his lines this time around, he certainly has a legacy of it.
The Pakistani journalist who became an inspiration for Nawazuddin Siddique’s character in ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ and later turned into a meme after he gave us some serious journalism goals– sign off in the perfect manner even if you are faced with hurdles like– a crowd of people.
Standing at a crowded station, Chand Nawab had tried to let people know that “Karachi ke log – Eid.., Eid manane, manane- ke liye… ”
In the viral video from 2008, you can see he finds it very difficult to finish the sentence as his attempt at the piece to camera constantly keeps failing, thanks to the people who kept pushing him, shoving him and walking into the frame.
In June 2018, 10 years after the first viral video, Chand Nawab is back with yet another iconic video – the journalist trying to tell his audience that Karachi’s paan is very famous, and a delicacy in Pakistan.
“Paan humari sakhafat hai” he states, and then signs off, and instantly puts a paan in his mouth. But it simply doesn’t stop there: he continues messing up his lines and he tries over and over again. He fumbles his lines multiple times – all while still trying to stuff the paan into his mouth.
He isn’t the only one though – in April 2019, a Pakistani reporter went viral for his ‘immersive journalism’ where he on a TV live he was seen standing in chest-deep water and reporting from the middle of a stream.
