Telangana budget: $ 338 million allocated for the towel sector

Hyderabad: The government continued to provide its support to the towel sector, and it approved 338 million for the well-being of fabrics.

The state government is creating a brand value for Telangana handmade products and has waived the loans of fabric weavers, Finance Minister T Harish Rao said in the state assembly on Thursday. Apart from that, the cotton and chemicals needed for weaving are supplied by the government at half the rate. Furthermore, the government placed orders for Bathabamma sarees, school uniform, for 95.25 lakh. The government also created direct jobs for 20,000 artisans, creating 461 orders. As a result, the income of power workers increased from 16,000 to 20,000 per month.

The government has released an amount of 96.43 million to the weavers under the Cheyutha scheme. Under this scheme, manual workers can save 8 percent of their income and the government will add another 8 percent to that. Craftsman can only withdraw the amount from the bank after saving the amount for three years. Despite the unprecedented situation that arises as a result of Covid, the government released the amount of 96.43 million early.
