Saving Private Ryan is seen as the GOAT war movie
Imo BHD has a better story, better acting and a way way better soundtrack. I get kinda bored half way through SPR but I've watched the whole BHD prob over 100 times
SPR has a insane opening scene tho.
inb4 misc just likes black "skinnies" getting shot up

BHK doesn't have a better story, or acting. I'll give you the soundtrack though. Black hawk down had more emotional range, like when Gordon and Shugart are pinned down, and you can just sense the desperation. But SPR was a fantastic. The opening raid on the beach was one of the best scenes you'll find in any movie. SPR appealed to the raw fear of war. BHK was full of spec ops guys that conditioned and battle hardened(although the scene where they lost Jamie's vein was sad AF). SPR went into guys backstories, where they were from. What they did prior to the war. They were just normal dudes thrust into this huge theater of war. When Upham couldn't hid and couldn't kill that SS soldier, the viewer felt that.
SPR is an all time great film. BHK is a pretty good biographical film.No man is your friend
No man is your enemy
Every man is your teacher

My most favorite war movie. I love The book too. "We Were Soldiers Once… and Young."
Of course, I like both Saving Private Ryan and Black Hawk Down but I love WWS the most.⭐ Samurai Break: 140kg(308lb) Failed Bench Press Recovery Video:

But who was true story?
SPR gets points for most realistic beach landing scene (according to the men that were actually there). The rest of the movie is drama - fantastic, but drama.
BHD gets points for being a true story, which, for me makes it way more relatable than any of the synthesized back stories or situations of SPR.“When you want to succeed as bad as you want to breathe, then you'll be successful.”

Some of the cinematography and scene transitions in SPR were so unique, like when it was raining on those big leaves, but it transitioned to gun fire. goat.
the first 20 sec of this

**does erotic stretches in the shower crew**
**wears short shorts to gym crew**

Black Hawk Down is far and away my favorite military move. SPR is good but BHD is the real deal as far as story goes. The cast is much better and the sense of desperation and the action sequences are just better. We Were Soldiers is also fantastic, though it could do without the wives and home scenes.
Dunkirk and 1917 were masterpieces of cinematography. Midway wasnt good at all, horrible acting.
