NEW DELHI: S&P BSE SmallCap index was trading with cuts at 02:56PM (IST) on Wednesday.
Shares of Vaibhav Global (down 10.55 per cent), Mahanagar Telephone Nigam (down 9.83 per cent), SREI Infrastructure Finance (down 9.35 per cent), Cosmo Films (down 7.18 per cent) and Genus Power Infrastructures (down 7.02 per cent) were the top losers in the index.
While Vishwaraj Sugar Industries (up 12.09 per cent), Sharda Cropchem (up 8.22 per cent), Bliss GVS Pharma (up 7.09 per cent), APL Apollo Tubes (up 6.69 per cent) and KEI Industries (up 5.14 per cent) were among the top gainers.
The S&P BSE SmallCap index was trading 1.69 per cent down at 20804.24 around 02:56PM.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down 132.15 points at 14778.3, while the BSE Sensex was down 371.24 points at 49992.72.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 4 were trading in the green, while 46 were in the red.
Shares of SBI Cards, Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, PNB and Suzlon Energy were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of KEI Industries, Adani Power, Orchid Pharma, Dalmia Bharat and Delta Corp hit their fresh 52 week high in today's trade.
