ASI caught taking bribe by ACB in Palamu

Daltonganj, Mar 17 (UNI) Sleuths of the Anti Corruption Bureau on Wednesday arrested an Assistant Sub Inspector of police posted at Town Police Station of the Palamu district while he was accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000.
The arrested has been identified as Inder Paswan hailing from Gotiya village from Nalanda district of Bihar. A complaint against him was registered with the ACB by one Kanchan Kumar Gupta alias Tinku who had pointed that a land-related case was filed against him and his family members under bailable offences in the town police station area.
Inder Paswan was the investigating officer of the case and on February 25 he had called him to the police station and demanded a bribe of Rs 6000 failing to which Kanchan Kumar Gupta would have
been sent to jail.
As Gupta did not want to pay the bribe he complained with the Anti Corruption Bureau. Post the verification of the complaint a trap was laid and ACB caught the ASI as soon as money exchanged hands.
