New Delhi, Mar 17 (UNI) Lok Sabha was adjourned till 1300 hrs on Wednesday after condoling the demise of sitting member from Mandi Ram Swaroop Sharma and former member Manohar Lal Saini.
Sixty-two-year-old Sharma was the BJP MP from Mandi of the 16th and current Lok Sabha.
The House also condoled the demise of former member Manohar Lal Saini who was a two-time MP.
He was the member of the 6th and 7th Lok Sabha and died at the age of 81 on March 8 in Delhi.
As soon as the House assembled at 1100 hrs, Speaker Om Birla read out the obituary references.
In his condolence message, Mr Birla said, 'I mourn the demise of Ram Swaroop Sharma, a sitting
Member of Parliament from Mandi in Himachal Pradesh. Ram Swaroop Sharma was a Member of the
current Lok Sabha and was also a Member of the 16th Lok Sabha. An able parliamentarian, Sharma
was also a Member of the Departmentally Related Standing Committee on External Affairs.
May God give his pious soul a place in his lotus feet and give the family the strength to bear
this loss.!! Om Shanti !! "
Later, the House observed two minutes' silence to pay homage to the departed souls.
After the House paid tributes to the departed souls, the Speaker adjourned the House till 1300 hrs.
Sharma was found dead at his North Avenue residence here this morning, police said.
