NEW DELHI: Lok Sabha is likely to apply the guillotine on Wednesday to pass all outstanding demands for grants and also the appropriation bill in view of the possibility of the House being curtailed due to the polls in five states. BJP has issued a whip to its MPs to be present in the House on Wednesday.
Once the Speaker applies “guillotine” on demands of grants for various ministries, the House may pass the appropriation bill, authorising the government to draw funds from the Consolidated Fund of India for its working as well as implementation of schemes. After the guillotine, all outstanding demands for grants are put to vote at once. After this, the appropriation bill is taken into consideration.
