South Africa recorded 933 new Covid-19 infections by Tuesday, along with 139 new Covid-19-related deaths, taking the confirmed death toll to 51 560.
According to a statement by Health Minister Zweli Mkhize, as of Tuesday, the country recorded a total of 1 530 966 confirmed Covid-19 cases.

The total number of healthcare workers vaccinated under the Sisonke Protocol is 157 286.
Gauteng remains the most affected province with 26.8% of the total confirmed cases, which translates to 409 647 cases.
KwaZulu-Natal has recorded 332 094 confirmed cases to date, the Western Cape 280 208 cases and the Eastern Cape 194 445 cases.
KwaZulu-Natal has recorded the most confirmed active cases with 6 032, followed by the Western Cape with 4 990 and Gauteng with 2 480.
The recovery rate is 95% and 1 458 001 recoveries have been recorded.

To date, 9 490 435 tests have been completed, with 24 920 tests conducted in the past 24 hours, Mkhize said on Tuesday.
Mkhize also reported a further 139 confirmed Covid-19-related deaths, of which 57 were recorded in Limpopo, 29 in Gauteng, 20 in KwaZulu-Natal, 13 in the Free State, nine in the Western Cape, six in Mpumalanga, three in the Northern Cape and two in the Eastern Cape.
This brings the total to 51 560 confirmed deaths.
"We convey our condolences to the loved ones of the departed and thank the healthcare workers who treated the deceased," Mkhize said.
