Railway staff should also be named Corona warriors: BJP

New Delhi, Mar 17 (UNI) BJP MP Dushyant Gautam on Wednesday said that the Railway staff should also be named Corona warriors.

Participating in the discussion on the Railway Ministry in Rajya Sabha, he said that certain political parties who said that they will give free electricity, they will eradicate poverty, they removed the poor instead. BJP Member Neeraj Shekhar said that many members asked about pending proposals, the Railway Minister was first doing all works that were pending from 30 years ago, and those were the projects that need to be done at first.

CPI(M) lawmaker Jharna Das Baidya said that the Railway Budget could not fulfill the aspiration of the northeastern regions.

Sanjay Singh of AAP asked government to help improve conditions for the Railway staff and help travellers, porters in railway stations.

Jugalsinh Mathurji Lokhandwala of BJP said that during lockdown, our Government has provided for migrant workers, helped them reach their homes, the railways helped transport vegetables and other essentials to people everywhere. "The first coach was built in Rae Bareli under Narendra Modi's government... We have to develop the country together. Toilets in railway stations and throughout the country became cleaner only with PM's Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan”, Mr Lokhandwala said.

"Narendra Modi's government is the poor people's government, he added.

Geeta aka Chandraprabha of BJP while participating the discussion, she said that Railway was a common man's reflection. "Few years back, bullet trains used to be a dream, but now, this dream is fulfilled. To make India 'atmanirbhar', we need our farmers to become self sufficient. I thank the FM for proper budget allocations on Railways. Even during such a pandemic, our government brought up world's first hospital train”, she said.

New Delhi, Mar 17 (UNI) The Opposition Congress on Wednesday alleged that the central government was more focused towards export of Covid vaccines instead of vaccinating its own people as only 0.045 per cent of the population have been inoculated so far while over five crore doses been exported. Initiating a discussion in the Lok Sabha on the Demands for Grants under the control of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare for 2021-22, Congress member Manish Tewari alleged, 'the government is giving more importance to vaccine diplomacy by playing with the lives of the people.'Mr Tiwari claimed that neither the vaccination programme is clear and nor it is commencing properly.
