Covid-19 surge: Ahmedabad parks, gardens and zoo to be shut from tomorrow

The decision of closing parks and gardens was taken following increase in the Covid-19 cases in Ahmedabad.
AHMEDABAD: The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has decided to close all parks and gardens and the zoo in the city.
The decision was taken following an increase in Covid-19 cases in the city. The number of coronavirus cases has increased to 246, which has doubled in the last fortnight.
"The parks and gardens, including Kankaria Lake Front and Kamla Nehru Botanical Garden, will remain closed from Thursday till further orders," said AMC officials.
On Monday, the Ahmedabad civic body decided to close shops, eateries, restaurants in Jodhpur, Bodakdev, Thaltej, Gota, Paldi, Ghatlodia, Navrangpura and Maninagar wards by 10pm. The Manek Chowk and Raipur Darwaja eatery markets too will be closed by 10pm.
The government on Tuesday had imposed curfew in Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Rajkot and Surat from 10pm to 5am.
