Former Union Minister Dilip Gandhi passes away

New Delhi, Mar 17 (UNI) Former union minister Dilip Gandhi passed away here at a hospital on Wednesday morning.

The BJP leader had contracted coronavirus and was being treated for it. According to sources, the former minister's condition deteriorated on Tuesday and he was kept on a ventilator.

Gandhi is survived by his wife, two sons and a daughter.

The 69-year-old leader served as Union Minister of State, Ministry of Shipping during the Vajpayee government from 2003-04.

New Delhi, Mar 16 (UNI) India on Wednesday recorded 28,903 new cases of COVID-19 during the past 24 hours, pushing the country caseload to 1,14,38,734, while the death toll soared to 1,59,044 with 188 more fatalities.
