Counting of votes for  two MLC seats begins in Telangana

Hyderabad, Mar 17 (UNI) Counting of votes polled for the two MLC seats from Hyderabad - Rangareddy-Mahbubnagar and Nalgonda -Khammam-Warangal graduates' constituencies began at Indoor Stadium in Saroornagar here on Wednesday.

As many as 1,606 staff were being utilised for the counting. Of them 806 are for Nalgonda-Warangal-Khammam graduates constituency and 800 for Hyderabad-Ranga Reddy-Mahbubnagar graduates constituency, official sources said.

As many as 3,57,354 people out of the total 5,31,268 had utilized their right to vote in Hyderabad-Ranga Reddy-Mahbubnagar graduates constituency, while 3,86,320 people out of 5,05,565 have exercised their franchise in the Nalgonda-Warangal-Khammam graduates constituency.

The Election Commission has decided to count 56,000 votes in every round. Each table consists of a supervisor, two staff and one observer.

In the opening round of counting, the valued votes will be bundled. Each bundle consists of 25 votes and later it will be counted.

More than 160 candidates are trying their luck in the two graduates' constituencies.
