Hemant Nagrale appointed Mumbai Police Commissioner

Mumbai, Mar 17 (UNI) Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh on Wednesday informed that Indian Police Service officer Hemant Nagrale was appointed as the new Commissioner of Police of Mumbai city.

Mr Nagrale's predecessor Parambir Singh was transferred and posted as Director General Home Guard, the Minister said in a tweet.

The Mumbai police had been recently in news after an assistant police inspector Sachin Waze was arrested by National Investigation Agency (NIA), in connection with its probe into the recovery of an explosives-laden SUV near industrialist Mukesh Ambani’s house.
