Temperature likely to touch 40°C in Ahmedabad

AHMEDABAD: The maximum temperature in Ahmedabad is likely to touch 40 degrees celsius in Ahmedabad on Wednesday, the India Meteorological Department said on Tuesday. The minimum temperature will also rise to 22 degrees celsius from 21.4 degrees celsius recorded on Tuesday.
On Tuesday, the maximum temperature of 38.7 degrees celsius was 2.4 degrees above normal temperature.
“No large change in maximum temperature during next 48 hours, thereafter fall by 2-3 degrees celsius. No large change in minimum temperature during next 4-5 days very likely,” the forecast mentioned.
The heatwave condition will prevail in Porbandar, Gir Somnath district and Union Territory of Diu on March 17 and 18. On March 20 and 21, light showers are likely in Dahod, Chhota Udepur, Narmada, Tapi and Mahisagar.
Bhuj with 39.5°C maximum temperature was the hottest spot in Gujarat, followed by Surendranagar
(39.3°C) and Kandla (39.2°C) . Deesa and Gandhinagar registered 39°C.
