Prakash Javadekar's tweets about
Maharashtra seeking more vaccine doses but is yet to use the stocks that has already been provided, Maharashtra health minister
Rajesh Tope said that the state is planning to set a target of vaccinating 3 lakh people every day and with that target, the vaccine stocks will last only for another 10 days.
Tope said that he has already informed Union health minister
Harsh Vardhan about the state requiring 20 lakh doses of vaccine stocks each week for the next three months.
"Maharashtra government had only used 23 lakh vaccines out of the total 54 lakh vaccines sent to the state, till 12th March. 56% vaccines remained unused. Now, Shiv Sena MP asks for more vaccines for the state. First mismanagement of pandemic now poor administration of vaccines.” said Javadekar in a tweet on Wednesday morning.
Tope on Wednesday afternoon said, "We have not said that there is any partiality we just told the Centre that we are vaccinating more and if the stock can be refurbished it will help us reach our targets faster,"said Tope. An average of 1,38,957 persons were being administered doses daily, and 35.52 lakh doses have been administered in Maharashtra till Wednesday,, adding that 31.3 lakh doses are available with the state said Tope.
