Police inspector trapped in ACB net in Jalna

Jalna, Mar 17 (UNI) A police inspector, working at Mantha police station, was arrested on Wednesday by the Anti-Corruption Bureau while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000 from a complainant.
Police inspector Vilas Dinkar Nikam (57) had demanded Rs 50,000 as bribe for helping complainant in a review petition filed by him in the bench of Bombay high court at Aurangabad, a release issued by ACB said.
However, complainant lodged a complaint with Aurabgabad unit of ACB, whose team laid a trap at a jeweller's shop in Mantha and caught red-handed Nikam with the bribe money.
A case under sections 7, 12, 13(1)(d) and 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act has been filed at the Mantha police station against the PI, sources added.
