FCC adopts framework for sharing information about service outages with states, Tribal nations

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) said it has adopted a framework for sharing communications outage information with state, federal and Tribal nation agencies so that these can respond and react more more quickly to outages in their communities while safeguarding data confidentiality. Acting chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel noted the move followed last month's Winter Storm Uri which led to severe weather in 25 states, affecting over 150 million people.
