Is there a guide to SWE report types and formulas/headings available standard for each?

Hello,

I am having a tough time working with custom Reports.

It seems like some reports contain fields that others don't.

Right now I am working on a cable report. I want to show:

Cable Tag, Cable PN Description, From Location, To location, Cable PN, Cable Mfg.

for example:

CBL-001, 8 pair signal cable, C1-PLC1, C2-PLC2, 77777, Alphawire

It seems like I have 2 choices of report types, "Cable Core" or "Cable"

One will give me the location tag but not the cable MFG, and vice versa.

All-in-all I find the Report Customization to be really non-intuitive, with descriptions that are different from the field names and I really wish it were easier to do some simple tweeking to the reports

I don't want a solution to THIS report quandary, well yes I do, but I want a tool to use in future as well.

If I had a document as I have for the symbol attributes (thank-you Go Engineer  SOLIDWORKS Electrical Symbol Attributes | GoEngineer )

that lists each report type with the available fields and description of the fields I would be oh so happy.

How do I correlate this:

to this:

In many cases it doesn't seem to match. For example on another report it took almost a day for me to figure out that "Line Type" was actually "Wire Type". I am not a programmer or someone with a ton of time to delve into this ...so any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Lynne
