Attack on CM convoy: Local court rejects bail of main accused Bhairav Singh

Ranchi, Mar 16 (UNI) A local court in the state capital rejected the bail plea of Bhairav Singh who is the main accused in the attack on the Chief Minister's convoy.

The court of judicial magistrate rejected the bail petition of Bhairav Singh. The man had surrendered on January 7 after which he was forwarded to judicial custody.

In this case, so far ward councillor Roshni Khalkho and 15 others have got bails on furnishings two private bail bonds of Rs 20,000 each.

In the evening of January 4 at Kishoreganj Chowk a crowd had tried to stop the convoy of the Chief Minister and during this, the people had attacked the escort vehicle in which two policemen had sustained injuries.

The people were protesting against the murder of a woman whose beheaded body was found under the Ormanjhi Police Station area of this district. In this case, 72 people have been made accused out of which 40 have been arrested.

Imphal, Mar 16 (UNI): N. Biren Singh handed over a cheque of Rs. 5
lakh under ‘Major Laishram Jyotin Singh Ex-Gratia Scheme’ to the
family of Sub-Inspector (GD) Paotinsat Guite of 59th Battalion BSF,
who died due to bullet injuries during exchange of fire with
terrorists at line of control (LOC) under Rajouri Sector in Jammu and
Kashmir on December 1 last year. He hailed from Maphou Kuki in
Kangpokpi District.
