Some of the best tequila I have had in mexico is incredibly smooth, almost like drinking water.

Tequila has by far the broadest range of alcohol. Legit top tier Mexican tequila is so damn smooth, whereas 90% of the crap sold in the states is hot garbage. How anybody can drink Jose Cuervo is beyond me.Originally Posted by binladenUsama

Like everyone else is saying, it depends on the brand. Clear liquor is always going to be superior (with the exception of whiskey, etc). With the clear liquor they've filtered out all the impurities and junk that makes it harsh so it's smoother to drink.
But, some people have bad experiences with the taste of liquor. Like if the first time you drank liquor and puked and it was tequila, that might always stick with you and just the smell of it will make you sick. If that's the case, drink something else.
