TS Eamcet: No changes to eligibility criteria

Hyderabad: This year, there are no changes to the admission requirements for admission to the Engineering for Telangana State Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Admissions (TS Eamcet).

The Telangana State Higher Education Council (TSCHE) has decided to continue with the existing criteria for admission to engineering. This means that candidates who have passed the Boards of Intermediate Education in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, or any other equivalent examination recognized by the BIE in TS and AP, have passed or been offered for the last year inter-examination with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry , are eligible to apply. .

The decision comes in the wake of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) which is changing the admission requirements for engineering grants this year. In the institution’s approval handbook for 2021-22, the AICTE said Mathematics and Physics are not compulsory for Engineering in the Intermediate or Class 12.

According to the textbook, students seeking admission to engineering courses had to pass 10 + 2 with three from Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Electronics, Information Technology, Biology, Informatics, Biotechnology, Technical Subjects, Agriculture, Engineering Graphics, Business Studies and Entrepreneurship .

The universities must offer suitable bridge courses, such as mathematics, physics, engineering drawing and so on, for students who come from different backgrounds to achieve the desired learning outcomes of the program.

“We have already appointed a convener and issued a schedule for the TS Eamcet 2021. According to news reports, the AICTE said that out of 14-15 subjects, candidates in any three must have passed to be eligible for engineering and that Mathematics and Physics are not compulsory. For admission to engineering, the majority of students in the state MPC stream into the Intermediate. Given the situation, there is currently no possibility of making changes to the admission requirements. So TS Eamcet 2021 will be held as it was done earlier, ”said TSCHE chairman, Prof T Papi Reddy.
