The State is not ready to proceed with the murder trial of a man and a woman who are accused of killing a Crime Intelligence officer.
Prosecutor Tumi Maunye told Magistrate Maggie van der Merwe in the Lenasia Magistrate's Court that critical aspects were outstanding. These include a ballistics report, a post mortem report and DNA results.
The Director of Public Prosecutions has not yet decided which court will hear the trial.
The accused, Byron Carlton, 32, and Alliyah Nicole Davids, 20, will remain in custody until the case is finalised.
Davids abandoned her bail application and Carlton was unsuccessful in his bail application.
They are expected to appear in court again on 8 June.
It is alleged that they shot dead Warrant Officer Cecil Becorny in Eldorado Park, on 5 November.
Becorny was chatting to an acquittance when he was ambushed and shot multiple times.
He was certified dead on the scene.
