Gujarat government sanctions Rs 165.20 crore for developmental projects in Surat, Vapi

Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani has sanctioned Rs 114.66 crore for development-related projects in Surat city.
AHMEDABAD: Gujarat chief minister Vijay Rupani on Tuesday sanctioned Rs 165.20 crore for development of infrastructural amenities in Surat, Vapi and Dhrol under the ‘Swarnim Jayanti Mukhya Mantri Shaheri Vikas Yojana (SJMMSVY).
Of the total amount, Rs 114.66 crore has been sanctioned for the Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC).
The SMC will use the funds for 775 development-related works such as constricting cement-concrete roads, street lights, water pipelines and drainage lines in private societies under the public-private partnership.
The CM has also sanctioned a grant of Rs 50 crore for Vapi municipality for constructing GIDC J-type road and a railway flyover connecting the Namdha Road. Similarly, the CM has allocated Rs 54 lakh for laying of paver blocks in Dhrol municipality.
