GURUGRAM: The Gurugram Metropolitan City Bus Limited (GMCBL) has introduced two more bus routes — one in Gurugram connecting Huda City Centre with Sohna and another in Faridabad connecting Ballabhgarh to Badarpur. It has added five new buses to its fleet, which will be used on the new routes. The city bus service now has 29 routes with 168 buses.
Talking about the newly-launched routes, a GMCBL official said, “Route No. 118 will start from Huda City Centre and reach Sohna bus stand via Samaspur, South City-2, Vatika Chowk, Badshapur, Bhondsi and Ghamroj. The bus service will start at 7am from Huda City Centre and 8.15am from Sohna bus stand.” The last bus from Huda City centre will leave at 6.50pm. At Sohna bus stand, the last bus will leave at 8pm, the official said, adding that three buses will run on this route.
The other route is No. 903, which will go from Ballabhgarh bus stand to Badarpur border via Escorts Mujesar, Bata Chowk, Neelam Chowk and Badkal Chowk. Two buses will run on this route.
The bus service is, however, still running behind schedule. When it was launched in 2018, it was announced that the city will have 200 buses by the summer of 2019. When asked about the delay, officials said they have received the remaining buses but they aren’t being utilised because the routes have not yet been finalised.
