LUDHIANA: Ludhiana commissioner of police Rakesh Aggarwal on Tuesday dismissed five cops including two assistant sub-inspectors and three constables.
These five Punjab cops — the top cop refused to share the names — in 2018 had set a criminal free after taking bribes from him in Delhi.
Agarwal said that in 2018, they had taken a gangster, who was lodged in Ludhiana Central Jail, to Delhi.
The cops set the criminal free after taking a bribe from him.
Later on the gangster was arrested from Delhi airport who confessed that he had given bribes to the cops.
Delhi Police had booked all five cops who were also arrested and were lodged in the jail in Delhi.
Recently, the cops came out on bail.
Meanwhile, the city police completed the departmental probe against them.
After completing the probe now the five cops have been dismissed.
