NOIDA: The two accused in the MBBS seat scam, who had surrendered in Mahoba and Kanpur in February this year, were produced in Surajpur court on Monday.
The court directed that the accused - Pankaj Kumar Khatik and Adarsh Singh - be lodged in Luksar jail in Greater Noida.
After their arrests, the Surajpur court had issued B-warrants against Khatik and Singh.
However, the jail authorities in Mahoba had failed to bring Khatik to Noida for two court hearings scheduled on February 23 and March 4 citing lack of a vehicle and adequate security.
Similarly, Singh also could not be brought from Kanpur for his hearing in Noida.
On Monday, however, the two were produced before the CJM court.
"The court has ordered that the accused be made to stay in Luksar jail itself. Police are now preparing to take them on remand for at least 14 days," ACP Rajnish Verma said.
